This is true though it refutes and rejects the concept of trinity. Some Christians look in the Qur’aan and claim that it has concepts which support the trinity, they quote verses such as the main verse which actually bears witness against them:
[4:171] “O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians)! Do not exceed the limits in your religion, nor say of Allah aught but the truth. The Messiah ‘Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), was a Messenger of Allah and His Word, which He bestowed on Maryam and a spirit (Rooh) from Him; so believe in Allah and His Messengers. Say not: ‘Three!’ Cease! (it is) better for you. For Allah is (the only) One Ilaah (God), Glory be to Him (Far Exalted is He) above having a son. To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. And Allah is All Sufficient as a Disposer of affairs”.
* First off, we have Allaah Admonishing the Christians not to exceed limits and to speak the truth. Furthermore, it is emphasized that ‘Iysa (‘Alayhi Salaam) was a Messenger of Allaah – “Rasul Allaah” just like Muhammad is Rasul Allaah (Salawaatu Rabbi w’As-Salaamu ‘Alayhi). When we see “His Word”, this means Allaah’s Command of “Be!”, the concept in Islaam known as “kun fayakoon” – Allaah Says “BE!” and it is!
