Christian Missionaries in Indonesia

Qonita – Indonesia

There’s a true story that I heard from my father years ago. A story about an ordinary muslim family in Indramayu West Java Indonesia who had a teenager son. Once a week this young man sked permission from his parents to go for practising badminton somewhere and the parents had no objection to this. Allah willed, this boy did not live long. He was sick and died young. And of course the grieving family then prepared everything for the funeral in the Islamic way.

But… all of sudden there came a group of people, introducing themselves as members of a Christian church. They told the clueless parents that the young boy had converted to Christianity and had become the church member for months. (more…)

Who Are The True Believers

As-Salaamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullaahi wa Barakaatuh.

Indeed all Praise is due to Allaahu Subhaanahu wa Ta’Alaa. May the Peace and Blessings be upon His Messenger Muhammad, and his family and his sahaabah and all who follow in their footsteps until the last day.

Many individuals claim that along with Islaam, there are other true religions. They claim that there are other “true believers” aside from Muslims who will also enter Jannah or Paradise. They base these claims on verses from Allaah’s Book; Al-Qur’aan. Yet is this really the case?

Claims can either be proven true or false based on facts. And essentially, something remains a claim until such time that it is proven with facts. In order to truly come to a conclusion on any matter with true justice, then one must present all of the evidence and facts, which pertain to that particular issue.

Those who make the stated claim present their evidence with the following Verses from Allaah’s Book:

[Al-Baqarah 2:62]  “Verily! Those who believe and those who are Jews and Christians, and sabians, whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day and do righteous good deeds shall have their reward with their Lord, on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.”

[Al-Ma'idah 5:69]  “Surely, those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah, in His Messenger Muhammad and all that was revealed to him from Allah), those who are the Jews and the sabians and the Christians, – whosoever believed in Allah and the Last Day, and worked righteousness, on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.

Let us inshaa Allaah however look at all of the evidence on this matter, and then come to a determination.

We will look first to another verse which contains the same groups as above:

[22:17]  “Those who believe (in Allah and in His Messenger Muhammad), and those who are Jews, and the sabians, and the Christians, and the Magians, and those who worship others besides Allah, truly, Allah will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection. Verily! Allah is Witness over all things.”

Looking at the above verses, Allaah first Refers to “those who believe” and Allaah then separates the Jews, Sabians and Christians from those who believe.

Claim: The trinity can be found in the Qur’aan

This is true though it refutes and rejects the concept of trinity. Some Christians look in the Qur’aan and claim that it has concepts which support the trinity, they quote verses such as the main verse which actually bears witness against them:

[4:171] “O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians)! Do not exceed the limits in your religion, nor say of Allah aught but the truth. The Messiah ‘Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), was a Messenger of Allah and His Word, which He bestowed on Maryam and a spirit (Rooh) from Him; so believe in Allah and His Messengers. Say not: ‘Three!’ Cease! (it is) better for you. For Allah is (the only) One Ilaah (God), Glory be to Him (Far Exalted is He) above having a son. To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. And Allah is All Sufficient as a Disposer of affairs”.

* First off, we have Allaah Admonishing the Christians not to exceed limits and to speak the truth. Furthermore, it is emphasized that ‘Iysa (‘Alayhi Salaam) was a Messenger of Allaah – “Rasul Allaah” just like Muhammad is Rasul Allaah (Salawaatu Rabbi w’As-Salaamu ‘Alayhi). When we see “His Word”, this means Allaah’s Command of “Be!”, the concept in Islaam known as “kun fayakoon” – Allaah Says “BE!” and it is!
